As we continue to celebrate NAIDOC week and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff who drive change in our community, we introduce Ashley Fallon, a Mitchell Services Driller Assistant in Cannington.
“To me, NAIDOC week shows people recognising the indigenous people and the achievements they have made both here and abroad, also showcasing the talent they have in sports, arts, music and all other things.
I don’t know much of my indigenous side – I’m from Bowen and I know I am Aboriginal/South Sea Islander, common last names in my family are Power, Youse, Yasso, Miller and Watego but I do learn new things and hope to learn a lot more and teach them to my young daughter.”
